The mission of the California State PTA is to positively impact the lives of all children and families by representing our members and empowering and supporting them with skills in advocacy, leadership and communication.
To provide academic enrichment to the students of the Alvarado Elementary School of San Francisco, CA.
Science and Technology: Installation and networking of computer systems, math tutoring, purchase of science materials and sponsorship of science education and presentations, sponsorship of the school's gardening and sustainability/recycling program. The Science and Technology program benefits all 525 kids at the school.
Community Building: Playground activities and physical education programs, behavioral therapy, PTA membership events, purchase of school materials and instructional supplies, sponsorship of afterschool clubs and support of teachers' salaries and benefits. This program benefits all 525 kids at the school.
Literacy Program: Reading and writing encouragement programs, tutoring in reading and writing, purchase reading and writing materials, preparatory course for standardized testing. This program benefits approximately 100 kids at the school.
