Slippery Fish is a vibrant and nurturing cooperative preschool in San Francisco, with play-based programs for children starting at 12 months. Our community thrives on the collective contributions of our families and staff. Together, we create an exceptionally supportive, safe, and engaging environment for learning. Our mission is to create and support an inclusive, play-based, and child-centered education that honors individual strengths in children, parents, and teachers while fostering relationships between each other, our diverse community, and our wider world.

Slippery Fish pre-preschool and preschool offerings included the following for September 2019 through March 2020: Minnows program for 1yo children on Tues & Thurs 3:30pm-5:30pm and up to 8 children per day, Goldfish program for 1-2yo children on Tues & Thurs 9am-Noon and up to 8 children per day, Koi program for 2-3yo children on Mon, Wed & Fri 9am-1pm and up to 14 children per day, Flying Fish program for 3-5yo children on Mon-Fri 9am-1pm and up to 22 children per day. Each program was professionally guided by 1 or 2 Master Teachers with parent support both in and out of the classroom. Each cohort adopted remote learning in March: utilizing Zoom, weekly play plans, curriculum bags delivered to homes, and parent support. Our new school year launched in August with a focus on safety and connection for all our programs. We re-opened our classrooms by utilizing our large outdoor spaces, re-imagined parent connection opportunities online, and maintained two remote learning cohorts for families who were not ready to return to the classroom.
