Organizations Filed Purposes:
TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL SERVICES THAT HELP 3RD, 4TH AND 5TH GRADE STUDENTS SUCCEED ACADEMICALLY AND BECOME KNOWLEDGEABLE AND PRODUCTIVE CITIZENS WITH THE SUPPORT OF THEIR PARENTS, FAMILIES, SCHOOL AND COMMUNITIES.
Tutoring/Education Support: As evidenced by pre and post, 88% of our 315 participants have increased core competency in Math, reading and science 3 levels. The increase places our participants at, or above the standard competency level for the SF Unified School District. 70% of the budget is spent on this program activity.
Youth Mentoring: mentorship with caring adults is a vital part of UEA programming. Hundreds of mentors have participated in guiding our young boys with limited role models. Our mentors help with character development which has led to significant increase in the young person's attitude and outlook on life.
Truancy Prevention: Our Parent Engagement Program has led to a decrease by more than 60% in truancy among our participants. Home visits, Teacher/Parent workshops and classroom monitoring have contributed greatly to this accomplishment. 10% of UEA's resources are used for this function.
