Organizations Filed Purposes: Wam is dedicated to the advancement of women in creative technology & digital media production. Wam believes that women's participation in this field will expand the voice of music & media, ensuring women's points of view are conveyed throughout our culture & society.

Girls on the Mic provided year-round after-school STEM/creative technology training to over 2,000 under-served middle/high school girls (96% low income/91% girls of color) from 40+ partner schools across the San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose Unified School Districts, exposing them to careers in technology and demonstrating the importance of STEM studies. WAM Core Certificate Training a music technology training and career certification program for low-income, young women. WAM Corps gave 105+ job-specific training workshops to over 500 young women in 2018. WAM Job Placement provides career counseling and job placement services for women pursuing careers in the recording and music technology industries. WAM placed 43 women in paid positions in 2019.WAM Internship Program - WAM provided critical real-world technology work experience through internships for 20 young women in 2019.Recording Residencies - provided 32 undeserved artists and ensembles from diverse cultures with free access to recording services, while providing paid work experience for 8 young women engineers in 2019.SoundChannel provides online technical training opportunities to under-served communities that do not have access to training due to geographic location, economic issues, child care or job schedules or disabilities. Sound Channel reached over 6,900 students from 131 countries in 2019.Local Sirens Women in Music Series is a quarterly, free performance series that promotes the careers San Francisco Bay Area women musicians, composers and artists. In 2019 this series presented performances by over 25 local women artists and reached an audience of over 1,800.WAM Membership program serves over 400 women from all over the world and provides discounts to workshops, magazines, conferences, audio gear as well as free access to a job board, resume listing service and technical forums.WAM Conferences presents panels, booths and networking opportunities at major conferences around the world. 2019 included The Audio Engineering Society Convention and the NAMM Convention. WAM also presents its own conferences for women. In 2019 WAM provided conferences in Nashville at Ocean Way and Tracking Room Studios, Los Angeles in partnership with Disney Animation Studios, Dolby and YouTube and NY in partnership with YouTube and NYU serving over 600 young women aspiring engineers and producers.
