Organizations Filed Purposes: To Provide Support For Clubs, Classroom Educational Materials & Supplies, and Extracurricular Opportunities for Students, Teachers and Administrators of the Bret Harte Middle School.

The Bret Harte Educational Association served 1,194 students, and supported 11 teams and 20 clubs this fiscal year. We worked with teachers & administrators to provide support for various school projects and ongoing infrastructure needs. We purchased and installed 3 filtered water stations which allow reusable water bottles to be filled, and also operate as drinking fountains. (Cost 38K) We also purchased 32 Lego robotics kits for the 7th grade robotics class,and a set of 36 Chromebooks. These two technology projects cost $28K. We continued to provide support for the school by providing funds for test privacy dividers, replacement library carts, educational DVD sets, computers for the robotics class, a wireless scanner, and educational materials requested by the staff. Our projects include staff & student appreciation events & anti-bullying workshops. We also funded enrichment activities such as a Career Day, a Cultural Fair,a Book Fair & Math Olympics. In addition to these projects, we encourage after-school activities. The majority of our funding supports the 20 school clubs, and 11 sports teams. We fund the staffing required to support both the clubs and the sports activities. This includes funding the required insurance, sports equipment, staff compensation, and club materials. We also fund improvements to the School's PE equipment.
