LATINOS IN TECHNOLOGY INITIATIVE (LITI):LATINOS IN TECHNOLOGY INITIATIVE (LITI) IS COMPRISED OF TWO COMPONENTS:LATINOS IN TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP - TARGETED TO GET MORE LATINOS EMPLOYED IN THE LOCAL HIGH TECH WORKFORCE- OFFERED TO INCOMING LATINO COLLEGE JUNIORS WHO HAVE CHOSEN A STEM (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, MATH) RELATED MAJOR- SCHOLARSHIPS OF $6,000 / YEAR FOR TWO TO THREE YEARS UNTIL THE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDEE GRADUATES- SPONSORING CORPORATE INVESTORS TO PROVIDE SUMMER INTERNSHIPS- 116 SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED FAMILY COLLEGE SUCCESS CENTER- PREPARES PARENTS AND STUDENTS TO GO TO AND THROUGH COLLEGE- CENTRALIZED ACCESS TO INFORMATION, CLASSES, WORKSHOPS, AND ONLINE SERVICES- MORE THAN A DOZEN PROGRAM PARTNERS PROVIDING PROGRAMS- SERVED 1,000+ STUDENTS AND PARENTS- WITH MORE THAN 7,000+ VISITS TO THE FCSC
LEADERSHIP LATINO BOARD LEADERSHIP ACADEMY- DESIGNED TO RECRUIT AND TRAIN LATINO PROFESSIONALS TO SERVE AS BOARD MEMBERS IN LOCAL NON-PROFITS- 470 LBLA FELLOWS HAVE COMPLETED THE PROGRAM WITH OVER 75% SERVING ON NONPROFIT BOARDS
EDUCATIONSTEM PROGRAMS- RAISING STUDENTS' SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS IN ALGEBRA- PREPARING STUDENTS FOR RIGOROUS HIGH SCHOOL MATH COURSES NECESSARY FOR COLLEGE ADMISSION- 4-WEEK SUMMER PROGRAM AND SATURDAY PROGRAM THROUGH THE SCHOOL YEAR- REACHED 2,500 STUDENTS LAST SCHOOL YEARPARENT EDUCATION ACADEMY- TRAINING PARENTS ON THE ACADEMIC STRUCTURE SO THEY MAY BE ABLE TO GUIDE AND MENTOR THEIR CHILDREN TO ACHIEVE GREATER ACADEMIC SUCCESS- 1,500 PARENTS TRAINED, IMPACTING NEARLY 4,000 STUDENTS
