Wags and Whiskers Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit all breed, NO KILL, animal rescue organization, incorporated in August 2015. We are a volunteer driven group with a number years experience with animals and rescue. Our mission is to rescue, foster, rehabilitate and rehome, abandoned, abused and unwanted animals in Willows and Chico, California. We rescue animals at risk of euthanasia in shelters, as well as those surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect. We are committed to helping the most needy, as well as the readily adoptable.
Wags and Whiskers Pet Rescue completed 1,842 adoptions in 2019. There were 1,580 dog adoptions and 262 cat adoptions. In early 2019, Wags and Whiskers continued to support the community of Paradise, CA in the wake of the Camp Fire by collecting donations of food, bedding and other pet supplies for distribution. Wags and Whiskers continued to offer low cost clinics to individuals, including vaccines and spays/neuters, throughout Butte County. Wags and Whiskers has partnered with several programs that offer spay and neuter assistance throughout Butte County to individuals who cannot afford to alter their pets. Throughout 2019, Wags and Whiskers completed 894 spay surgeries and 726 neuter surgeries, helping to slow the overpopulation of cats and dogs in Butte County.
