Community Impact LAB's mission is to empower women and families to live, give, and grow to their fullest potentials. We envision a world where women and their abilities are valued, where work and life can be integrated, and where families can act as a force for positive change. Our Social Good projects allow families to be able to tackle social and environmental justice issues through community organizing and volunteerism. Our Learning Learning lab projects provide opportunities for families to be able to learn new topics and skills and pursue pursue personal and professional development. Our Family Support programs help mothers build community and a network of supportive families.
Community Impact LAB seeks to advance gender equality by tackling barriers women, especially mothers face. Our mission is to empower women and families to live, give, and grow to their fullest potentials. We envision a world where women and their abilities are valued, where work and life can be integrated, and where families can act as a force for positive change.
Lift Me Up Box Program: Adult and Youth volunteers gather 2-6 times per month to sort, fold, and package donations to distribute to vulnerable moms, teens, and newborn babies. Thousands of baby, maternity, and clothing items are crowdsourced from local businesses, community supporters, and CIL members. Each box contains $pence 300 worth of diapers, wipes, clothing, books. toys, shoes, and other baby and maternity items. We use the IRS donation valuation guide to determine the value of the donations.
Environmental Justice Education: designed and implemented workshops on food waste reduction, climate resilience, and emergency preparedness. Community Building: hosted workshops on self-care, physical well-being, postpartum meetups, and playdates.
Community Baby Shower: Community Impact LAB and invites vulnerable new moms and their families, social service and health professionals, and volunteers to gather to celebrate the journey into motherhood. Volunteers collect donations, sort and package baby boxes, and items for the free shower shop. Social service and health professionals set up informational tables and volunteers host pampering and childcare stations. Hundreds of volunteers completed thousands of volunteer hours to put on an event for 101 underserved moms and their families.
