The Vision of Center for Family Strengthening is a community where all children are valued, nurtured and safe. Our misson is to build effective community partnerships dedicated to the support of strong families and the prevention of child abuse and neglect through education, advocacy and coordination of services. As the designated Child Abuse Prevention Council of San Luis Obispo County, Center for Family Strengthening serves the community as the catalyst, convener and coordinator of the countywide approach to prevention of child maltreatment. The Center for Family Strengthening Board of Directors work with the Executive Director and staff to prioritize strategies for action, and builds foundational capacity to move the state and local prevention agenda forward. The Of?ce of Child Abuse Prevention (OCAP) provides these de?nitions and guidance to support Center for Family Strengthening in our leadership role, collaborating within counties and communities to promote child and family heal

CHILDRENS ADVOCACY CENTER - CFS serves as the coordinating organization for the emerging Child Advocacy Center of San Luis Obispo County. We are entering into the 3rd year forming a system that puts the needs of child victims first by reducing interviews and trauma informed practices. We are working towards accreditation by the National Childrens Alliance and working with the San Luis Obispo County Behavioral Health Agency to establish a centralized hub to house the Child Abuse Interview Team, Forensic Medical Examinations, Family Advocate and Treatment services.
PARENT CONNECTION - The Mental Health Services Act- Prevention funds Parent Connection to provide free on demand parent coaching services, parent education classes, and web-based parent education resources in all regions of San Luis Obispo County. Annually we serve over 600 parents.
Promotores Collaborative builds leadership in the Latino community through outreach and advocacy. Our program fosters and supports a network of volunteers throughout San Luis Obispo County by providing training, emotional support, and materials to empower a healthier community. We envision sustainable, diverse, comprehensive and equal access to healthcare and services among all members of our community and implement countywide prevention education programs and resources so we meet our Mission.
