OUR SERVICES INCLUDE A 24-HOUR HOTLINE, SUPPORT GROUPS, LEGAL SERVICES, EMERGENCY & TRANSITIONAL HOUSING, AND MORE, IN ENGLISH, SPANISH AND FILIPINO.
CRISIS INTERVENTION SERVICES:24-HOUR HOTLINE - CORA'S 24-HOUR SUPPORT LINE PROVIDES CRISIS COUNSELING, REFERRALS TO EMERGENCY AND LONG-TERM SERVICES, IMMEDIATE SAFETY PLANNING AND CONNECTION TO EMERGENCY RESPONSE SERVICES. CALLS ARE ANSWERED IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH, WITH MOST OTHER LANGUAGES COVERED THROUGH TRANSLATION SERVICES.ERP - CORA'S EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROGRAM (ERP) IS A COLLABORATION WITH THE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT AS WELL AS 16 ADDITIONAL POLICE DEPARTMENTS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO. IN CONJUNCTION WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT, TRAINED CORA COUNSELORS PROVIDE 24-HOUR EMERGENCY INTERVENTION, CRITICAL INCIDENCE RESPONSE AND ADVOCACY TO DE-ESCALATE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SITUATIONS.
FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES:MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES - CORA OFFERS THERAPEUTIC COUNSELING SERVICES. OUR COUNSELING AND SUPPORT GROUPS ARE LED BY TRAINED, TRAUMA-INFORMED SPECIALISTS. SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH AND ARE OPEN TO SURVIVORS AND THEIR CHILDREN.SUPPORTIVE HOUSING SERVICES - CORA OFFERS SUPPORTIVE HOUSING AND SUBSIDIES TO THOSE LEFT HOMELESS DUE TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. OUR AIM IS TO HELP INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES BECOME SELF-SUFFICIENT BY FINDING PERMANENT HOUSING AND INCREASING INCOME.
LEGAL SERVICES:LEGAL ADVOCACY AND REPRESENTATION - CORA'S LEGAL DEPARTMENT ATTORNEYS AND STAFF OFFER FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL ASSISTANCE WITH RESTRAINING ORDERS AND RELATED FAMILY LAW ISSUES; PROVIDE COURT ACCOMPANIMENT, ADVOCACY AND REPRESENTATION; AND MAKE REFERRALS TO RESOURCES WHERE APPROPRIATE.LEGAL INFORMATION LINE - CORA'S LEGAL INFORMATION LINE ACCEPTS MESSAGES RELATING TO LEGAL ASPECTS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SITUATIONS. CORA ATTORNEYS RETURN CALLS WITHIN TWO DAYS, DISPENSING LEGAL ADVICE, INFORMATION AND REFERRALS ON LEGAL ISSUES, INCLUDING RESTRAINING ORDERS, CHILD CUSTODY, DIVORCE AND IMMIGRATION.
