Organizations Filed Purposes:
Family Housing and Adult Resources, Inc. (FHAR) serves adults who have intellectual and development disabilities (e.g., mental retardation,cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and/or autism). FHARs mission is to assist each client to reach their full potentials.
Residential Services provided residential facilities and support services for adults who have developmental disabilities, behavioral disorders, histories of neglect / abuse or previously in developmental centers.The services are designed to help residents with independent living skills and reduction of maladaptive behaviors. In 2019, 52 clients were permanent residents with FHAR.
Adult Development (ADP) and Employment Support Services (ESS) areFHARs day programs.ADP is pre-vocational program for developementally disabled adults who have behavioral or emotional disorders. ADP helps reduction of maladaptive behaviors that prevent successful participation within standard vocational programs or work settings.ESS, on the other hand, emphasizes in independent and vocational skills, employment opportunities, and volunteer experiences with non-disabled peers. Participants eventually are integrated into the work force while continuosly supported by FHAR staff to ensure successful and long-term placement.In 2019, both programs attracted 83-88 particpants every month.
Supported Living and Living Training Services provided to graduates of FHARs residential service program, to indiviuals residing in their own homes / families, or to those living in FHAR s supported living facilities. In 2019, average of 49 clients every month are served. This program helped the clients enable to live semi-independently in their communities.
