Provide opportunities for emerging vocal artists.
Our sixth annual vocal competition was held in June 2019. There were 238 applicants, originally from 35 states and 26 foreign countries, from whom 14 finalist in two tiers were selected for master classes and finals before a judging panel and live audience in Oakland CA.
The 2019 master teachers were internationally renowned composer Jake Heggie (Tier I) and Clifford (Kip) Cranna, Dramaturg at San Francisco Opera (Tier II).
