Organizations Filed Purposes:
The mission of the Prison University Project is to provide excellent higher education to people at San Quentin State Prison; to support increased access to higher education for incarcerated people, and to stimulate public awareness about higher education access and criminal justice.

AA degree and college prep classes. PUP held 39 accredited courses and graduated 11 students with Associates degrees in 2019. PUP also held 21 pre-college courses and started the process of accreditation.
Educating the Public: PUP attended a variety of conferences and sent newsletters and student writings.
Technical Assistance: PUP provided assistance to other higher education programs throughout the state and country.
