Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Valley of the Moon Children's Home Foundation is a private, non-profit organization that is committed to providing supportive and educational services to positively impact the present and future lives of abused, abandoned and neglected children and youth. The Foundation supports children and youth that are presently experiencing foster care, or have transitioned out of foster care, and are current or former residents of Sonoma County.
To provide supportive and educational services for the abandoned, neglected and abused children of Sonoma County.
VOMCF Foundation Grant Program:The VOMCF grants funding to programs that share our common goals and further strengthen our collaboration with agencies and individuals in Sonoma County. This has increased our ability to avoid duplication of services and has narrowed our focus to achievable, actionable programs where we can measure the outcomes and better serve our children while in the Home, and former foster youth located in Sonoma County through a myriad of services and programs.- V.O.I.C.E.S Sonoma: $37,492 to help with youth staffing for this comprehensive resource center serving foster youth who are aging out of the foster care system, and located in Sonoma County; and a satellite site located at the Children's Center to provide youth with a safety net of information on services and programs once they age out of foster care.- Sonoma County Human Services Department: $125,580 grant to help support clinical services at VMCC.
Valley of the Moon Children's Home Foundation (VOMCF) Scholarship Program:Since the inception of this program 250 scholarships have been awarded, with 52 awarded in 2019, for a total of $892,500 to former foster youth in Sonoma County who are looking to seek further educational, vocational, or trade opportunities.
Valley of the Moon Children's Center (VMCC) Dental Program:The VMCC Dental Program has served 943 children since 2011. Many of these children have never been seen by a dentist or hygienist before. They are taught proper oral hygiene and are now able to smile again. In 2019 78 new patients were seen as part of the dental program.
