2019 PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS:Global City Resarch ProjectRHI oversaw a two year research project to develop a methodology to measure changes in alcohol related harm in nightlife districts. As more residents moved into downtown to live or at hotels, the conflicts with venues over loud music required conflict resolution. As the live music capital of the world is the citys brand, this is a critical issue to resolve. During the course of the events, more than 80 people participated in one or more sessions. City of Victoria, BCProject: Hospitality Zone EvaluationRHI provided technical support in organizing a framework for Victorias nighttime economy to improve public safety, efficient late-night transportation, alcohol-related harm and disorder at closing time. 42 people participated in the process with a final report submitted to the city council. City of Delray Beach, FLProject: Seminar and ConsultationRHI provided a one day seminar and group facilitation to resolve conflicts between nightlife venues and city officials over crowd management, sound management and code compliance. The half day event was attended by about 60 people, including agencies chiefs, city council members, resident groups and hospitality business owners and managers.
