The Simi Valley Community Foundation acts as a conduit for community members who have a need to establish donor advised funds. The Foundation has also been pursuing the long term goal of building and operating an "Under One Roof" facility.
UNDER ONE ROOF - The Simi Valley Community Foundation made progress in its effort to build an "Under One Roof" facility. A budget was developed andpresented to the City of Simi Valley for the purpose of supporting the city's intention of renting a facility to the Foundation. The city and the Foundation have entered into an agreement to rent a facility. The Foundation has commenced renovation of the building to house the offices of a number of local social service charities including the major tenant, The Free Clinic of Simi Valley.
DONOR ADVISED FUNDS MGMT - The Simi Valley Community Foundatioin acted as a conduit between the community and those impacted by adversity. The public donated to a number of funds established for the benefit of those in the community impacted by disease, injury or disaster. An example is a fund established for the benefit of numerous families who were adversely affected by the Metrolink train disaster of 09/12/08 in Chateworth, CA. For the year ended 01/31/14, the amount disbursed to prersons and their families impacted by disease, injury or disaster totaled $
