As an international grassroots non-profit, Duo Duo Animal Welfare project is committed to advocate for the end of dogs and cats killed for delicacy food and promote animal welfare in China.
SHELTER SUPPORT: Continued and expanded shelter projects started in 2017 in 4 cities in China. Yulin city, Mudanjiang city, QingHuanDao City, and Dandong City. Caring for a total of about 300 dogs and 40 cats. Estimated allocation: $73,887 (41% of $179,717). 1- rent, personnel, operation, overhead ($49,426) 2- food, spay-neuter, vaccines and medical ($22,461). 3- emergency assistance: helped a shelter in Dandong City that was forced to relocate ($1500) and helped a shelter in Guangzhou with roof repairs ($500).
EDUCATION and COMMUNITY OUTREACH: Continued and expanded education support and community events in 5 cities in China: Yulin city, Dalina City, MuDanJiang city, Guanzhou city and DanDong city. Estimated allocation: 50% of $179717 ($89.859) 1-animal welfare summer camps: cover Chinese college students' travel and lodging expenses, teaching materials, speaker fees, venue rentals. cover local elementary students for training materials, teaching fees, and field trips to visit local shelter($77,395) 2- community outreach and adoption events held in shopping centers: banners, mc/celebrity fee, AV rental, animal transportation, volunteer appreciation party, etc. ($12,464).
MENTORSHIP: Estimated allocation: approx. 9% of $179,717 ($15,971). 1) Sponsored US and Australian animal welfare educators and shelter experts to share the newest information with local educators and shelter managers. Assisted at summer camps and helped at local shelters in 3 cities in China: Beijing city, Dalian city, and Mudanjiang city. ($9,583) 2) We created a workshop on how to humanly take care of homeless dogs in mainland China. We brought experts from Taiwan to share their experiences. We held this workshop in 5 cities: Guanzhou city, Xian city, Beijing city, Dalian city, and Dandong city ($6,388).
