ASSISTANCE LEAGUE OF TEMECULA VALLEY IS A VOLUNTEER PHILANTHROPIC ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO SERVING THE NEEDS OF FAMILIES IN SOUTHWEST RIVERSIDE COUNTY. VOLUNTEERS ARE COMMITTED TO COMMUNITY SERVICE AND SPECIAL PROGRAMS TO HELP LOCAL CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN NEED.
OPERATION SCHOOL BELL, FIRST ADOPTED IN 1989, IS THE MAIN PHILANTHROPIC PROGRAM OF ASSISTANCE LEAGUE AND REQUIRES THE LARGEST PORTION OF THE ANNUAL BUDGET. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES THE BASIC NEED OF CLOTHING FOR SCHOOLCHILDREN (GRADES TK-12) IN THE DEFINED SERVICE AREA, WHO MIGHT OTHERWISE NOT HAVE ADEQUATE CLOTHING TO ATTEND SCHOOL. FAMILIES THAT QUALIFY SIGN UP FOR THE PROGRAM ONLINE. ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS IS ALLOCATED FOR EACH PROGRAM BENEFICIARY TO PURCHASE NEW CLOTHING AT ONE OF THE SCHEDULED SHOPPING EVENTS HELD AT THE STORE FACILITIES OF LEADING LOCAL RETAILERS. NEW CLOTHING INCREASES CHILDREN'S INCENTIVE FOR REGULAR SCHOOL ATTENDANCE, HIGHER ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE, AND ENHANCES SELF-ESTEEM. SINCE IT'S INCEPTION, OPERATION SCHOOL BELL HAS PROVIDED NEW CLOTHING TO OVER 40,000 DISADVANTAGED SCHOOLCHILDREN WITHIN THE ORGANIZATION'S SERVICE AREA.
OPERATION NON-PROFIT PARTNERSHIP PROVIDES COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE TO OTHER 501(c)3 ORGANIZATIONS BY MAKING AVAILABLE THE ORGANIZATION'S MEETING FACILITIES. THIS MEETING FACILITY IS ALSO USED BY THE AREA INTER-AGENCY COUNCIL FOR ITS REGULAR MEETING OF AREA NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. In addition this program provides In-Kind donations of clothing and supplies to individuals and families in need and partners with other local 501(c)3 organizations to serve the needs of the community.
Operation Community Outreach program provides a range of community needs on an emergency, one-time basis. Referrals may be received from the local school districts or other organizations for specific needs.
