Reconnecting families to foster healthy lifestyles and relationships.
Two additional episodes of our Cooking and Kids program were produced and added to the season II series. Episodes 0014S2E7 "Cooking with them Italians" ... A gnocchi recipe with a focus on the importance of family history, community and traditional ways of cooking. Episodes 0015_S2E8 "Rainy Day Ravioli" with a focus on keeping strong family structure during difficult times (this episode was filmed during COVID-19 isolation). The Cooking and Kids program is currently being distributed via 213 Public access TV stations nationwide thus offering positive family programs to over 15 million households in the United Stated.
The organization launched a second year of our "Little Sprouts" project which distributes free fruit and vegetables seeds to students and residents in the community. During Marh, April and May of 2020, Vlada's Seeds of Life distributed hundreds of free seed packages in effort to encourage families to spend more quality family time gardening, growing their own food and cooking together. Most of the seeds were distributed through the City of Temecula special school lunch program. This was organized in collaboration with Golden Valley Seeds.
Project "America Dines-In" continued to offer cooking classes and dining events to the community. During COVID-19, the program provided homemade ready to serve meals to local families where at least one of the family member was battling cancer. The program's goal was to promote more quality family time over a homemade meal. During the five week period, five different families were served. The program was organized in collaboration with Barons Market and Michelle's Place.
