Organizations Filed Purposes:
Advocacy and Support for Conejo Valley Latino Families. Speaking on behalf of and support of Latino families especially Spanish speakers. Our focus is on City, School District, and Park District. Pandemic related food support and bringing assistance programs to the attention of families are activities included in our current support programs.
Shadows Food Pantry - operated in the Shadows Apartments Community Room. Shadows Food Pantry was created to provide food and household supplies for members of our community impacted by COVID19. The pantry is located in downtown TO in the COVID19 closed community room. Visited by 100 families each week. The pantry features fresh produce, frozen meats, canned foods, dry goods,bread, milk and eggs. All VC families are welcome. A grant allowed us to buy freezer, fridge, tables and hand trucks.
Food Distributions - Drive Through offered at United Methodist Church, Conejo Elementary, and Glenwood Elementary. Food Distribution Events - we pack generous bags of fresh produce and dry and canned staples for distribution at our weekly drive through pantry. Families also receive face masks, hand sanitizer, and eggs, meat,and bread as supplies allow. 100 families per week are supplied. When food boxes are available via FoodShare relationships, we provide those added items to our families
Household Goods Marketplace and distributions. We accepted donations from Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma and distributed these items to families at our Food Distribution events and at a scheduled Household Goods Marketplace held at United Methodist Church where 100 families attended to shop COVID19 style for bedding, furniture, and home decor
