Since 1871 the German-American members of the LA Turners have maintained cultural heritage with language classes, chorus performances, education and sports, within the tenets of Turners founder Friedrich Ludwig Jahn.
The Los Angeles Turners operate the Los Angeles Turners Museums to teach the history of Germans in Los Angeles, California, and the United States of America.
BEGINNING IN 1871 THE GERMAN-AMERICAN MEMBERS OF THE LOS ANGELES TURNERS HAVE STRIVED TO MAINTAIN ITS CULTURAL HERITAGE THROUGH LANGUAGE CLASSES, CHORUS PERFORMANCES, AND SCHOOL ROOM/GYMNASIUM INSTRUCTION ALLWITHIN THE TENANTS OF ITS FOUNDER, FREDRICK LUDWIG JAHN, WHO TAUGHT THE BENEFIT OF A SOUND MIND IN A SOUND BODY. TODAY WE ALSO INVITE THE DIVERSE COMMUNITY OF LOS ANGELES TO JOIN US IN ACTIVITIES THAT ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE THOUGH AN ATMOSPHERE OF FITNESS HEALTH ANDWELLNESS, SPORT SUPPORT OF A YOUTH TRACK TEAM, LEARNING AN AFTERSCHOOL ACADEMY AND FUN GERMAN FESTIVALS, FILMS AND FAMILY EVENTS IN CONJUNCTION WITH 18 OTHER GERMAN LANGUAGE CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS IN GREATER LOS ANGELES. IN ADDITION WE SHARE OUR PROSPERITY AND COMPASSION TO THOSE LESS FORTUNATE.
