To enhance public education within the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District to strengthen the learning experience for students.
Funding was provided to teachers and others of the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District to support specific enhancement programs and classroom grants.The Foundation provided $294,571 in grants including support for individual classroom materials and partner organizations that provide academic support to school district students. This year, with the impacts of COVID-19, Excellence in Education also provided funding for Wi-Fi hotspots and Chromebook computers to aid student connectivity, social-emotional curriculum, and funding for the school district's "seamlessmeals" program. Additionally, Excellence in Education partnered with two local organizations to fund a three-year program, FOREST?FIRE, which utilizes art, science, and humanities to teach students about the history and impact of fire in our region.
