Organizations Filed Purposes:
CSERC protects water, wildlife, and wild places of the Northern Yosemite region.
FORESTS/WILDLIFE: CSERC conducted watchdog monitoring, meadow surveys, and forest fieldwork in support of national forest resources in the local region. CSERC undertook wildlife photo-detection surveys for rare species, reviewed all projects open for public comments in the Stanislaus Forest, and organized volunteers to join with staff in performing restoration projects at multiple sites during the year.
RIVERS/WATER: The Center's biologists did water quality sampling of forest streams in both the mountains and in foothill areas in four river watersheds. Staff played a lead role in the IRWM watershed planning collaborative process, and also participated in two separate FERC hydro-relicensing processes affecting the Tuolumne and Stanislaus Rivers.
LAND PLANNING: CSERC reviewed every major development project proposed in either Tuolumne County or Calaveras County during the year - submitting input to support the protection of water, wildlife, open space, and scenic resources.
