Organizations Filed Purposes:
TO CREATE AND MAINTAIN PUBLIC GARDENS FOR THE PRESERVATION, EDUCATION, CULTURAL CONTRIBUTION, AND ENHANCEMENT OF THE ENTIRE VENTURA COASTAL COMMUNITY.
The Gardens and the new Welcome Center were open the entire year 2019, reopening after the Thomas fire. The Welcome Center facility enabled VBG to better control access to the Gardens, greatly reducing vandalism. In addition, this new visitor contact capability enabled us to greatly increase the number of paid memberships. Garden development was focused on continuing Thomas fire damage remediation, developing new garden areas, pathway extensions, and beginning work on a multi-year state grant for carbon sequestration.
