Organizations Filed Purposes:
Our mission is to support activities related to the delivery of emergency medical care in Southern California. We support the education of student doctors, emergency medicine residents, nurses, paramedics and all allied health professionals who aspire to treat patients in emergency situations. We focus our efforts on those who aspire to serve an under served patient population.
We support educational, professional development, and wellness activities for professionals in the field of emergency medicine, EMS, and disaster relief in southern California. This includes financial support for educational equipment, support staff, conference and travel fees, office and recruitment supplies.
Information Technology updates and expansion: Our largest expense during 2020 was related to creating a better on line recruiting and educational experience for our Emergency Medicine residency training program. We updated our websites, purchased on line conferencing equipment and software so that we could safely recruit future doctors to our training program. We also purchased scheduling software to help us comply with duty hours for our trainees.
Training and Educational Costs: This includes reimbursement for faculty and residents to attend virtual and in-person educational conferences. It also covers the purchase of simulation equipment to allow for safe procedure training for residents.
Membership and Professional Activities: This includes subscriptions to professional societies for 64 Emergency Medicine residents as well as a program group membership in the largest Emergency Medicine resident organization in the country. (EMRA) This group provides educational support to training programs to specifically benefit the residents.
