Operation Hope operates an all year round homeless shelter in Vista, CA. The shelter has the capacity to house 46 individuals. In addtion to providing shelter, Operation Hope utilizes case workers to assist residents with financial and legal problems, to help residents with resume building and job seeking, and attempts to place all residents in more permanent housing by the shelter closing date.
To provide a safe environment for both homeless families with children and single women to support rebuilding lives and regaining hope.
During the 2019-2020 shelter season Operation Hope fed, housed and case managed over 150 unique individuals. Volunteers contributed a total of 5,196 hours of service from 233 volunteers toward the program. Change beds were reduced from eight down to five due to two rooms held out for Covid quarantine.
