Tha National Ayurvedic Medical Association is a national organization representing the Ayurvedic profession in the USA. Its mission is to preserve, protect, improve and promote philosophy, knowledge, science and practice of Ayurveda for the benefit of humanity.
Professional Membership.NAMA is the voice of the Ayurvedic community that empowers individuals, communities and humanity to achieve health and well being through Ayurveda. The National Ayurvedic Medical Association represents the Ayurvedic profession in the United States of America.Founded in 1998 and incorporated in 2000, the organizationss purpose is to provide leadership within the Ayurvedic community and to promote a positive vision for Ayurveda and its holistic approach to health and wellness. Its mission includes preserving, improving, and promoting the science and practice of Ayurveda for the benefit of humanity.
Credentialing and Accreditation.NAMA recognizes schools that offer education and training programs in Ayurveda in the United States, that meet NAMA standards and have applied to NAMA to have their programs recognized and listed. NAMA also conducts national certifying exams for professional certification.
Conduct annual conferences on Ayurveda attended by approximately 350 members and participants. The conferences include workshops, panel discussions and talks, all led by professionals on various aspects of Ayurveda. Ayurveda is a unique and complete system of medicine that is particularly adept at bringing the joy and fullness to life that makes longevity possible and desirable. The conferences explore how the practices of Ayurveda add vitality to life from beginning to end; and, when/if health is compromised, how Ayurvedas rejuvenative therapies can bring back health and well being.
