USING A CUSTOMIZED APPROACH, CAPC GETS TO KNOW THE INDIVIDUAL'S SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND STRENGTHS AND THEN IDENTIFIES BUSINESSES IN THE COMMUNITY WHERE THESE TRAITS WOULD BE BENEFICIAL. WE APPROACH THESE BUSINESSES TO CUSTOMIZE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES. THE FOCUS IS ALWAYS ON COMMUNITY BASED, INTEGRATED EMPLOYMENT WHERE THE INDIVIDUAL IS PAID AT LEAST MINIMUM WAGE. EMPLOYMENT FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES ALLOWS THEM TO BECOME MORE SELF-SUFFICIENT AND LESS RELIANT ON GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE.CAPC IS A CARF ACCREDITED AGENCY WHICH ALLOWS CAPC TO PROVIDE SERVICES WITH FUNDING FROM THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF REHABILITATION. CARF IS AN AGENCY DEDICATED TO BEST PRACTICES, AND CAPC IS PROUD TO HAVE ALWAYS RECEIVED THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF ACCREDITATION. CAPC'S CARF ACCREDITATION EXPIRED APRIL 2020, AND CAPC POSTPONED SEEKING RENEWAL AT THAT TIME DUE TO COMPLICATIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
SUPPORTED LIVING - CAPC'S SUPPORTED LIVING PROGRAM OFFERS SUPPORT TO ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES TO EMPOWER THEM TO LIVE WITHIN THEIR COMMUNITY IN HOUSING THEY CHOOSE. THIS PROVIDES THEM WITH A SENSE OF DIGNITY, AS WELL AS RESPECT FROM FELLOW COMMUNITY MEMBERS. THE SERVICE IS FLEXIBLE AND CAN BE TAILORED TO THE NEEDS OF THE INDIVIDUAL, FROM MINIMAL SERVICES TO FULL TIME AROUND-THE-CLOCK SUPPORT IF NECESSARY. THE INDIVIDUALS SERVED BY CAPC HAVE MORE PRODUCTIVE AND FULFILLING LIVES AND BECOME VALUED MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY.
DAY SERVICES - CAPC PROVIDES DAY SERVICES TO ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES, DESIGNED TO IMPROVE SKILLS IN ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING AND ENHANCE QUALITY OF LIFE. DAY SERVICES MAY ENCOMPASS TAKING CLASSES FOR ENRICHMENT PURPOSES, PARTICIPATING IN VOLUNTEER WORK, LEARNING HOW TO MAKE FRIENDS, PLAN SOCIAL OUTINGS, HAVE RECIPROCAL RELATIONSHIPS, LEARN HOW TO UTILIZE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AND/OR RIDE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION WITH ASSISTANCE, ACCESS COMMUNITY RESOURCES, MANAGE PERSONAL FINANCES AND ANY OTHER TYPICAL ACTIVITY OF DAILY LIVING. SOME PEOPLE WHO RECEIVE DAY SERVICES WILL INCREASE THEIR LEVEL OF INDEPENDENCE WITH PARTICULAR SKILLS AND ACTIVITIES WHILE OTHERS WILL HAVE ENRICHED LIVES WHILE NEEDING CONTINUAL SUPPORT.
