The mission of the WACC is to promote and develop the cultural and civic welfare of Whittier by offering its members superior business networking events, business development, educational opportunities, marketing assistance and legislative advocacy.
The Whittier Area Chamber of Commerce (WACC), a California non-profit corporation, was formed in 1914 to serve the business community of the greater Whittier area through ongoing business leadership and development. The WACC works to uphold its mission and support its members by providing quality networking events, marketing opportunities, legislative advocacy and business information through seminars.
Hathaway Golf Classic - For over 35 years the Whittier Chamber has conducted a community golf tournament. Proceeds from the tournament make it possible for the chamber to provide monthly networking breakfast and evening mixers free of charge.
Silver Shield Awards Banquet - For the past 19 years the Chamber and members of the business community have helped to organize and host a recognition dinner for the officers of the Whittier Police Department. Ticket sales and advertising cover all expenses for the 500 person event.
Business Expo - Annually the Chamber organizes a Business Expo that is free for the public to attend. Over 100 members promote their businesses at this event. Entry fees from businesses who are participating in the Expo cover all expenses.
