THE UNIVERSITY SERVED 20,808 (UNDUPLICATED) STUDENTS DURING FISCAL 2020, OFFERING PROGRAMS AT MULTIPLE LOCATIONS IN DELAWARE AND NEW JERSEY AS WELL AS PROVIDING AN ON-LINE MODALITY. IN NOVEMBER OF 2018, THE UNIVERSITY EMBARKED ON THE PROCESS OF REPLACING ITS LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. THIS SYSTEM AND ITS RELATED EDUCATIONAL PROCESSES WILL CONTINUE TO SHAPE OUR LONG-TERM STRATEGIC INITIATIVES IN THE YEARS AHEAD. THE SYSTEM WILL ENHANCE OUR ABILITY TO PROVIDE A QUALITY EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE FOR EACH AND EVERY STUDENT. THIS PROJECT ENABLES THE UNIVERSITY TO BETTER SERVE OUR STUDENTS AND IMPROVE EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS. THE PILOT WAS COMPLETED DURING THE SUMMER OF 2019 AND THE UNIVERSITY FULLY IMPLEMENTED THE SYSTEM IN THE FALL 2019. IN THE FALL OF 2017, THE UNIVERSITY ADMITTED THE FIRST STUDENTS FROM OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH GUILD EDUCATION, AN ORGANIZATION DESIGNED TO COLLABORATE WITH CORPORATIONS AND HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS TO MAXIMIZE EDUCATION AS A BENEFIT TO EMPLOYEES. THIS PARTNERSHIP CONTINUES TO EXPAND WITH THE ADDITION OF WALMART AND DISNEY TO THE GUILD ROSTER OF CLIENTS. IN ADDITION, THE UNIVERSITY PURCHASED A PARCEL OF LAND, WHICH INCLUDED A BASEBALL FIELD PROVIDING A PERMANENT HOME FOR THE UNIVERSITY'S BASEBALL TEAM. THE INDIVIDUAL COLLEGE'S ACCOMPLISHED THE FOLLOWING FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2020:COLLEGE OF HEALTH PROFESSIONS:THE COLLEGE OF HEALTH PROFESSIONS (COHP) SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED AN ON-SITE ACCREDITATION VISIT BY THE COMMISSION ON COLLEGIATE NURSING EDUCATION. THE ACCREDITATION VISIT ENCOMPASSES PROGRAM QUALITY, WHICH INCLUDES MISSION & GOVERNANCE, INSTITUTIONAL COMMITMENT AND RESOURCES, CURRICULUM & TEACHING-LEARNING PRACTICES AND PROGRAM EFFECTIVENESS, WHICH INCLUDES ASSESSMENT AND ACHIEVEMENT OF PROGRAM OUTCOMES. IN COLLABORATION WITH THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS, THE COHP DEVELOPED TWO DUAL-DEGREE OPTIONS: THE DOCTOR OF NURSING PRACTICE (DNP) AND MASTER OF SCIENCE IN MANAGEMENT (MSM) IN HEALTHCARE ADMINISTRATION, AS WELL AS THE DNP AND MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION.OUR DOCTOR OF NURSING PRACTICE PROGRAM RESPONDED TO STUDENT REQUESTS FOR A WEEKEND INTENSIVE HYBRID OPTION AT THE BRANDYWINE CAMPUS, WITH A NEW COHORT STARTING EVERY FALL AND SPRING. THIS COMPLEMENTS OUR EXISTING ONLINE OFFERINGS WITH NEW COHORTS BEGINNING EACH FALL, SPRING, AND SUMMER.IN SEPTEMBER 2019, COHP EARNED FACULTY APPROVAL FOR A NEW 18-CREDIT UNDERGRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN INTERDISCIPLINARY CARE MANAGEMENT.COLLEGE OF EDUCATION:THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS OFFERED BY THE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (COE) WERE AWARDED NATIONAL RECOGNITION BY THEIR RESPECTIVE ACCREDITING ASSOCIATIONS (SPAS): BS K-6 (ELEMENTARY LEVEL) TEACHER PREPARATION, BS 7-9 (MIDDLE LEVEL) TEACHER PREPARATION, M.A. 7-12 (SECONDARY LEVEL) TEACHER PREPARATION, M.ED. K-6 (ELEMENTARY LEVEL) TEACHER PREPARATION, M.ED. SCHOOL LEADERSHIP (PK-12), M.ED. SPECIAL EDUCATION (K-12), M.ED. READINGTHE COE AS A TOTAL UNIT WAS RECOMMENDED FOR UNCONDITIONAL CAEP ACCREDITATION (NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR ACCREDITATION OF EDUCATOR PREPARATION) FOR A PERIOD OF SEVEN YEARS (2020-2027), FOLLOWING A REVIEW OF SEVERAL THOUSAND PAGES OF NARRATIVES AND DATA AND A VIRTUAL SITE VISIT BY A NATIONAL ACCREDITATION TEAM IN EARLY APRIL 2020. THE VIRTUAL VISIT WAS ONE OF THE FIRST EVER CONDUCTED IN THE COUNTRY, AND THE WILMU CAEP REPORT HAS BEEN DESCRIBED AS A NATIONAL MODEL. COE'S NEW ARTC PROGRAM (ALTERNATIVE ROUTE TO TEACHER CERTIFICATION), LAUNCHED JUST LAST YEAR, NOW ENROLLS NEARLY 300 CANDIDATES. EVEN THOUGH THE PROGRAM TAKES 2-3 FULL SCHOOL YEARS (PLUS TWO SUMMERS) TO COMPLETE, ABOUT HALF OF THE STUDENTS HAVE ALREADY BEEN HIRED AS FULL-TIME TEACHERS OF RECORD IN SPECIAL EDUCATION SETTINGS, WHICH ALLOWS THEM TO EARN A FULL TEACHER'S SALARY AS THEY WORK TOWARD COMPLETION OF THEIR DEGREES. THE MAJOR GOAL OF OUR ARTC PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDE A PATHWAY FOR PARAPROFESSIONALS TO BECOME LICENSED TEACHERS, CERTIFIED TO TEACH SEVERELY HANDICAPPED AND/OR AUTISTIC CHILDREN.THE PASS RATE ON ALL NATIONALLY STANDARDIZED EXIT/CERTIFICATION EXAMS FOR THIS YEAR'S COHORT OF TEACHER PREPARATION PROGRAM COMPLETERS WAS 100%.A REPORT RELEASED BY THE DELAWARE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION IN JUNE 2020 REVEALS THE MAJOR IMPACT WILMU GRADUATES ARE CURRENTLY HAVING ON DELAWARE'S CHILDREN, SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES.POSITIONS # OF WILMU DEGREE HOLDERS IN THE POSITION" TEACHERS 3554" COUNSELORS 232" ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS 155" PRINCIPALS 108" SUPERINTENDENTS 9COLLEGE OF SOCIAL & BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE:THE COLLEGE OF SOCIAL & BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE (COSB), IN COLLABORATION WITH THE COHP AND THE COE, DEVELOPED AND IMPLEMENTED A NEW INTER-DISCIPLINARY GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN TRAUMA AND RESILIENCE.THE LEGAL STUDIES PROGRAM RECEIVED A FAVORABLE (PASSED WITH NO RECOMMENDATIONS) INTERIM REPORT FROM THE AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION (ABA). THE ONSITE REVIEW WILL BE IN 2022. THE PROGRAM CHAIR, WAS ALSO ASKED TO SERVE AS AN EVALUATOR FOR ABA. COLLEGE OF ARTS & SCIENCE:IN OCTOBER 2019, WILMINGTON UNIVERSITY'S EXTERNAL PARTNERSHIP CENTER AND COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES (CAS) BEGAN A SERIES OF TEN SESSIONS TITLED ENHANCING COMMUNICATION SKILLS FOR NON-NATIVE SPEAKERS AT THE U.S. HEADQUARTERS OF INCYTE CORPORATION. INCYTE IS A PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY WITH LOCATIONS WORLDWIDE AND A DIVERSE, INTERNATIONAL STAFF. THE ENGLISH CHAIR, CONTINUES TO WORK WITH THE DELAWARE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION'S P20 ENGLISH REMEDIATION COMMITTEE. THE COMMITTEE CONSISTED OF REPRESENTATIVES FROM DIFFERENT SCHOOL DISTRICTS THROUGHOUT THE STATE AS WELL AS REPRESENTATIVES FROM EACH OF DELAWARE'S INSTITUTES OF HIGHER EDUCATION. THE GOAL OF THE COMMITTEE IS TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF DELAWARE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES WHO ARE IN NEED OF REMEDIATION WHEN THEY ENTER COLLEGETHE SCIENCE CHAIR, IS NOW THE ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF NASA'S SPACE GRANT CONSORTIUM OF DELAWARE. HE ASSISTS IN OVERSIGHT OF THE CONSORTIUM OF HIGHER LEARNING INSTITUTIONS IN THE STATE AND WITH GRANT PROPOSAL REVIEWS. HE ALSO CONTINUES TO WORK WITH STATE AND FEDERAL REPRESENTATIVES, HAVING TWICE VISITED CAPITOL HILL IN WASHINGTON, D.C., FOR SCIENCE ADVOCACY. HE ALSO MENTORS WILMINGTON UNIVERSITY'S SPACE GRANT RESEARCH RECIPIENTS AND HAS PUBLISHED A NEW AND INFLUENTIAL JOURNAL ARTICLE IN NATURE PUBLISHING GROUP'S HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES COMMUNICATIONS: SHIFTING BASELINE SYNDROME AMONG CORAL REEF SCIENTISTS. THIS PAPER ESTABLISHES AN ECOLOGICAL BASELINE FOR THE FLORIDA KEYS CORAL REEF ECOSYSTEM. COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY:DURING THE FISCAL YEAR, THE COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY (COT) CREATED THE FOLLOWING DEGREES, CERTIFICATES AND CONCENTRATIONS: ADVANCED GRAPHICS DESIGN UNDERGRADUATE CERTIFICATE (STARTS FALL 2020), ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE UNDERGRADUATE CERTIFICATE (STARTS FALL 2020), ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE CONCENTRATION WITHIN THE B.S.
