Organizations Filed Purposes: ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION BY INTEGRATING MULTICULTURAL ARTS EXPERIENCES INTO THE DAILY CURRICULUM OF DELAWARE SCHOOLS. OUR GOAL IS TO ENGAGE STUDENTS IN ALL SUBJECTS BY USING THE ARTS TO FOSTER A LOVE OF LEARNING WHILE PRMOTING CULTURAL AWARENESS AND RESPECT AS WELL AS ENHANCING CREATIVITY AND CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS.

DIAE MISSION IS TO INSPIRE THE ARTIST WITHIN EACH STUDENT THROUGH THE VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS IN THE CLASSROOM AND BEYOND BY ENGAGING ALL ART FORMS WITH CROSS DISCIPLINARY LEARNING, CONNECTING PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS WITH STUDENTS AND EDUCATORS, AND, OFFERING PROGRAMS THAT FOSTER DISCOVERY, LEARNING BEYOND THE CLASSROOM, AND UNDERSTANDING OF ONE'S PLACE IN THE WORLD AROUND THEM.

DELAWARE WOLF TRAP (DWT) IS A PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN A WOLF TRAP TEACHING ARTIST AND AN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR TEACHERS IN THE CLASSROOM WHILE ENGAGING CHILDREN IN MUSIC, DANCE, AND IMAGINATIVE PLAY. A TYPICAL 16-SESSION RESIDENCY USES ARTS-INTEGRATED STRATEGIES TO PROMOTE LITERACY AND STEAM (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ARTS AND MATH) DEVELOPMENT THAT TEACHERS CAN USE TO FOSTER YOUNG CHILDREN'S LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT. DWT IS AN AFFILIATE OF THE WOLF TRAP INSTITUTE FOR EARLY LEARNING THROUGH THE ARTS PROGRAM IN VIENNA, VA. DIAE IS ONE OF 21 AFFILIATES IN THE NATION AND ABROAD, AND IS THE ONLY PROVIDER OF THIS PROGRAM IN THE STATE. FY20, WE WERE EXPECTED TO EXCEED OUR PROGRAMMING GOALS FOR OUR DELAWARE WOLF TRAP PROGRAM. HOWEVER, DUE TO COVID-19 WE WERE ONLY ABLE TO COMPLETE 15 OF THE 35 SCHEDULED RESIDENCIES PRIOR TO SCHOOL CLOSINGS IN MARCH 2020. 8 WOLF TRAP CLASSROOM RESIDENCIES WERE PAUSED MID-WAY DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, 4 OF WHICH WERE COMPLETED VIRTUALLY SUMMER 2020. WE ALSO DELIVERED 5 OF THE PLANNED FAMILY/COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS PRIOR TO SCHOOL CLOSINGS IN MARCH. CURRENTLY, WE ARE MEETING WITH AND SCHEDULING RESIDENCIES WITH OUR PARTNERS TO FULFILL OUR PRIOR COMMITMENTS FROM LAST ACADEMIC YEAR. BEGINNING IN JUNE 2020, OUR WOLF TRAP TEACHING ARTISTS ALSO LED VIRTUAL FAMILY WORKSHOPS FOR STUDENTS, FAMILIES AND EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS. THESE WERE FREE AND MADE AVAILABLE TO OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS. WE HAVE BEEN MEETING WITH INDUSTRY LEADERS FROM WOLF TRAP INSTITUTE FOR EARLY LEARNING THROUGH THE ARTS AND OTHER AFFILIATE PARTNERS TO LEARN ABOUT AND SHARE RESOURCES FOR VIRTUAL LEARNING IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION SO THAT WE CAN CONTINUE TO SERVE OUR HEAD START AND EARLY LEARNING CENTERS DURING THESE UNCERTAIN TIMES. K-12 RESIDENCIESWE BRING DANCE, MUSIC, THEATRE, AND VISUAL ARTS PROFESSIONAL TEACHING ARTISTS (TAS) AND PERFORMERS INTO DELAWARE PUBLIC, PRIVATE AND CHARTER SCHOOLS. OUR DIAE IN-SCHOOL RESIDENCY PROGRAM IS MODELED AFTER THE LINCOLN CENTER FOR PERFORMING ARTS AESTHETIC EDUCATION PROGRAM. EACH RESIDENCY EXPLORES AN ART FORM THAT CULMINATES IN A FINAL PERFORMANCE OR WORK OF ART. IN PREPARATION, TAS COLLABORATE WITH TEACHERS TO CUSTOMIZE A SERIES OF IN-CLASS WORKSHOPS THAT ADDRESS DELAWARE COMMON CORE STATE STANDARDS AND DELAWARE STANDARDS FOR VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS WHILE OFFERING OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS TO EXPLORE, CREATE, AND REFLECT ON THE ART FORM. ACADEMIC SCHOOL YEAR 2019-2020, DIAE WAS ON TRACK TO REACH OUR STRATEGIC PLAN PROGRAM GOALS. DUE TO ALL SCHOOL CLOSINGS MARCH 2020 IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC, WE HAD COMPLETED 8 OF THE 21 RESIDENCIES WE HAD SCHEDULED.
