DELAWARE WOLF TRAP (DWT) IS A PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN A WOLF TRAP TEACHING ARTIST AND AN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR TEACHERS IN THE CLASSROOM WHILE ENGAGING CHILDREN IN MUSIC, DANCE, AND IMAGINATIVE PLAY. A TYPICAL 16-SESSION RESIDENCY USES ARTS-INTEGRATED STRATEGIES TO PROMOTE LITERACY AND STEAM (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ARTS AND MATH) DEVELOPMENT THAT TEACHERS CAN USE TO FOSTER YOUNG CHILDREN'S LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT. DWT IS AN AFFILIATE OF THE WOLF TRAP INSTITUTE FOR EARLY LEARNING THROUGH THE ARTS PROGRAM IN VIENNA, VA. DIAE IS ONE OF 21 AFFILIATES IN THE NATION AND ABROAD, AND IS THE ONLY PROVIDER OF THIS PROGRAM IN THE STATE. THESE WERE FREE AND MADE AVAILABLE TO OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS. WE HAVE BEEN MEETING WITH INDUSTRY LEADERS FROM WOLF TRAP INSTITUTE FOR EARLY LEARNING THROUGH THE ARTS AND OTHER AFFILIATE PARTNERS TO LEARN ABOUT AND SHARE RESOURCES FOR VIRTUAL LEARNING IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION SO THAT WE CAN CONTINUE TO SERVE OUR HEAD START AND EARLY LEARNING CENTERS DURING THESE UNCERTAIN TIMES.
