THESE PRESENTATIONS, WHICH ALSO INCLUDED LANDFALL, A FOUR-DAY FESTIVAL OF WORLD MUSIC, FEATURED ESTABLISHED AND EMERGING ARTISTS FROM ACROSS THE UNITED STATES AND MORE THAN A DOZEN OTHER COUNTRIES. DURING THE YEAR WE MAINTAINED PRESENTING PARTNERSHIPS WITH SIX LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS. IN TOTAL THIS PROGRAM REACHED AN ESTIMATED 23,241 PEOPLE.

CULTURAL ENGAGEMENT: AS OWNER AND OPERATOR OF HISTORIC CSPS HALL, LEGION ARTS SERVES AS AN ANCHOR AND CULTURAL ADVOCATE FOR OUR DISTRICT AND OUR LARGER COMMUNITY - IN EFFECT, AS A CENTER FOR THE CREATIVE CITY. TO ARTS ENTREPRENEURS WE OFFER MARKET-RATE RETAIL SPACE; TO CITIZEN INITIATIVES AROUND PRESERVATION, DEVELOPMENT AND CIVIC INVOLVEMENT, WE OFFER MEETING SPACE AND STRATEGIC SUPPORT; TO SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY GROUPS WE OFFER INTERACTIVE ARTS EXPERIENCES, WORKSHOPS, EDUCATIONAL RESIDENCIES AND SIMILAR ACTIVITIES. PARTICIPANTS DIRECTLY SERVED DURING THE PAST YEAR NUMBERED 12,215.

ARTIST SERVICES: LEGION ARTS PROVIDES A RANGE OF SERVICES DESIGNED TO SUPPORT LOCAL AND VISITING ARTISTS IN THEIR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND THEIR PARTICIPATION IN AN IOWA ARTIST NETWORK. PROGRAM ELEMENTS INCLUDE THE ARTS INCUBATOR AT CSPS HALL; THE WORK OF ART BUSINESS CURRICULUM; COMMISSIONING AND CO- COMMISSIONING AWARDS; FISCAL SPONSORSHIPS; THE IOWA ARTIST RELIEF FUND; INITIATIVES IN HEALTH CARE AND DISASTER PREPAREDNESS. IN ADDITION, FUNDING AND SPACE ARE ALLOCATED FOR ARTISTS ENGAGED IN RESIDENCIES AND THE CREATION OF NEW WORK. DURING THE YEAR THIS PROGRAM SERVED AN ESTIMATED 846 ARTISTS.
