Organizations Filed Purposes: THE VISION OF IOWA ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY COLLEGE TRUSTEES IS TO ADVOCATE WITH ONE VOICE FOR IOWA'S COMMUNITY COLLEGES. IOWA ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY COLLEGE TRUSTEES' MISSION IS TO SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY COLLEGES AS THEY EDUCATE IOWA'S WORKFORCE.

THE ASSOCIATION SUPPORTS AND FACILITATES THE VISION OF THE COMMUNITY COLLEGES OF IOWA.

IACCT'S PRIMARY MISSION IS TO PROMOTE EDUCATIONAL INTERESTS OF THE CITIZENS OF THE STATE OF IOWA BY DEVELOPING, STRENGTHENING, AND CORRELATING THE WORK OF IOWA'S 15 COMMUNITY COLLEGES' BOARDS OF DIRECTORS WHO SERVE 128,624 CREDIT STUDENTS FOR 1.72 MILLION CREDIT HOURS AND 189,843 NONCREDIT STUDENTS FOR 5.96 MILLION CONTACT HOURS WITH 13,329 EMPLOYEES. TO ACCOMPLISH THIS, IACCT: -FACILITATES THE EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION AMONG THE COMMUNITY COLLEGES; -PROVIDES INFORMATION CONCERNING THE EDUCATIONAL AND ECONOMIC CONTRIBUTIONS AND NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY COLLEGES; -FACILITATES THE ADOPTION OF BEST PRACTICES BY THE COLLEGE DIRECTORS; -COORDINATES AND FACILITATES COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE IACCT BOARD, LOCAL BOARDS OF TRUSTEES, PRESIDENTS, AND COMMUNITY COLLEGE "WORK ALIKE" GROUPS- FROM THE BUSINESS OFFICERS TO THE STUDENT SERVICES DIRECTORS; -EDUCATES PEOPLE AT ALL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT, PRIVATE BUSINESS, NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC ABOUT THE EDUCATION/TRAINING PROGRAMS OF THE COMMUNITY COLLEGES AND THEIR POSITIVE ECONOMIC IMPACT ON IOWA, ON LOCAL ECONOMIES AND THEIR STUDENTS' LIVES; AND -OPEN ITS DOORS FOR MEETINGS AND GATHERINGS FOR NOT ONLY THE BOARD'S AND PRESIDENTS' COMMITTEES, AND MANY STATEWIDE COMMUNITY COLLEGE COMMITTEES WHO NEED A CENTRAL MEETING LOCATION, BUT ALSO FOR A MYRIAD OF NONPROFITS AND GOVERNMENT GROUPS TO PROMOTE THE EDUCATIONAL GOALS IN IOWA, AND TO BE A RESOURCE FOR THE EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY. THE WORK OF THE ASSOCIATION IS REFLECTED IN THE DUTIES OF ITS BOARD WHICH INCLUDE: -ACTING AS TRUSTEES OF PUBLIC EDUCATION AND USING THEIR BEST EFFORTS TO PROTECT AND ENHANCE PUBLIC EDUCATION FOR THE GOOD OF THE CITIZENS OF IOWA; -USING THE RESOURCES OF THE COMMUNITY COLLEGES TO MEET THE EDUCATIONAL AND TRAINING NEEDS OF ALL STUDENTS, AND WORKFORCE TRAINING NEEDS OF BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY; -SUPPORTING COOPERATIVE PROGRAMS WITH SECONDARY SCHOOLS, OTHER INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING, AND WITH BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY; -PROMOTING AND WORKING FOR THE FINANCIAL WELL-BEING OF IOWA'S COMMUNITY COLLEGES; AND -WORKING WITH THE IOWA ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY COLLEGE PRESIDENTS.

IACCT PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL, LEADERSHIP AND ADVOCACY TRAINING THROUGH A VARIETY OF VENUES. THESE INCLUDE: -THE TWO AND ONE-HALF DAY IACCT ANNUAL CONFERENCE FOR OVER 150, TRUSTEES, PRESIDENTS AND OTHER COMMUNITY COLLEGE STAFF ADDRESSING CRITICAL ISSUES AFFECTING IOWA'S COMMUNITY COLLEGES; -THE IACCT STUDENT LEGISLATIVE SEMINAR PROVIDING OVER 200 COMMUNITY COLLEGE STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN AND PRACTICE LEADERSHIP AND ADVOCACY SKILLS BY LISTENING TO STATE LEADER PRESENTERS, PARTICIPATING IN DIRECTED ACTIVITIES, PARTAKING IN DIRECTED CONVERSATION WITH LEGISLATIVE LEADERS, AND PARTICIPATING IN ONE-ON-ONE MEETINGS WITH THEIR LEGISLATIVE REPRESENTATIVES; AND -IACCT BOARD MEETINGS AND JOINT MEETINGS WITH THE COMMUNITY COLLEGE PRESIDENTS PROVIDE DIALOGUES WITH THE GOVERNOR AND LEGISLATIVE LEADERSHIP AS WELL AS EDUCATION ABOUT AND RESOLUTION OF PERTINENT ISSUES WITH A PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF MAKING THE DELIVERY OF EDUCATION AND WORKER TRAINING MORE EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE. -THE SEVEN ANNUAL AND, AS NEEDED, SPECIAL IACCT LEADERSHIP CLUB WEBINARS TO ALL TRUSTEES, PRESIDENTS, AND THE OTHER COMMUNITY COLLEGE STAFF ON ISSUES AND CONCERNS FOR IOWA'S COMMUNITY COLLEGES AND HIGHER EDUCATION. -THE ANNUAL IACCT AND ISU TRUSTEE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE THAT PROVIDES LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND ISSUES DISCUSSION FOR LOCAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE BOARD LEADERS.
