Organizations Filed Purposes: WE MOBILIZE SUPPORTERS OF ALL PARTIES TO DEFEND AND INCREASE ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE, PARTICULARLY FOCUSED ON REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND EDUCATION. WE INSPIRE AND ENGAGE IOWANS TO TAKE UP THE CAUSE OF REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS, HEALTH, EDUCATION, AND RELATED TOPICS THROUGH EDUCATION, GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING, AND LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY.

TO INSPIRE AND ENGAGE CONSTITUENTS TO SUPPORT THE REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND RIGHTS CAUSE.

VOTERS OF IOWA STAFF OPERATED A SOPHISTICATED DIGITAL PROGRAM THAT INCLUDED WRITING AND SHARING 18 BLOG POSTS THAT HELPED GENERATE 21,454 UNIQUE WEBSITE VISITS AND ADDED 385 NEW FOLLOWERS ON FACEBOOK AND 358 NEW FOLLOWERS ON OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS. IN FY20, VOTERS OF IOWA STAFF CONTINUED PARTNERSHIPS WITH ALLIES AT THE IOWA LEGISLATURE TO ADVOCATE FOR HEALTH CARE ACCESS AND DEFEND AGAINST ANTI-SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE POLICIES. THE VOTERS OF IOWA STAFF ALSO EDUCATED AND MOBILIZED SUPPORTERS TO ENGAGE ON BILLS IMPACTING REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH DURING THE 2020 IOWA LEGISLATIVE SESSION, INCLUDING CONTINUED EFFORTS TO RESTRICT ABORTION THROUGH THE IOWA CONSTITUTION. (CONTINUED IN SCHEDULE O)DESPITE COVID-19 INTERRUPTING IOWANS' LIVES, THE IOWA LEGISLATURE CONTINUED THE LEGISLATIVE SESSION AND PASSED A BILL MANDATING PATIENTS SEEKING ABORTION SERVICES WAIT 24 HOURS BEFORE RECEIVING CARE. VOTERS OF IOWA STAFF PARTNERED WITH THE LEGAL TEAM AS PP HEARTLAND CONTESTED THIS NEW LAW IN STATE COURT.DURING LEGISLATIVE SESSION, THE VOTERS OF IOWA STAFF ENGAGED THOUSANDS OF SUPPORTERS THROUGH GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING, TEXT BANKING, AND DIGITAL OUTREACH AND ADVERTISING TO COMBAT ANTI-REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH BILLS AND ADVANCE PROACTIVE LEGISLATION TO PROTECT AND EXPAND SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE AND RIGHTS. THESE EFFORTS INCLUDED ONLINE ADVOCACY FORMS WHICH ENGAGED OVER 2,000 SUPPORTERS. AS COVID-19 RAMPED UP ACROSS THE STATE, WE CONTINUED TO SHIFT OUR STRATEGIES ONLINE FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR SUPPORTERS, STAFF, AND COMMUNITIES.58 SUPPORTERS GATHERED IN DES MOINES TO SPEAK WITH LEGISLATORS ADVOCATING AGAINST A SERIES OF BILLS RESTRICTING ACCESS TO SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH. SUPPORTERS EDUCATED POLICYMAKERS ABOUT THE DANGERS OF BILLS SEEKING TO ADD PERSONHOOD DEFINITIONS TO CRIMINAL CODES AND FACTUAL INACCURACIES OF PURPORTED MEDICATION ABORTION REVERSAL. IN IOWA, WE GREW OUR VOLUNTEER AND SUPPORTER BASE ACROSS THE STATE, ORGANIZED SUPPORTERS TO LOBBY THEIR STATE LEGISLATORS AT OUR ANNUAL DAY ON THE HILL EVENT, AND SUSTAINED OUR YOUTH AND CAMPUS ORGANIZING PROGRAM ON FOUR CAMPUSES. WE CONTINUED TO INVEST IN THE LATINX COMMUNITY THROUGH OUR RAIZ PROGRAM, INCLUDING REGISTERING VOTERS ON NATIONAL VOTER REGISTRATION DAY. OVER 250 IOWA VOLUNTEERS GAVE THEIR TIME TO HELP CONTACT SUPPORTERS TO FIGHT AGAINST ANTI-SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH POLICY INITIATIVES, AND BUILD SUPPORT FOR PLANNED PARENTHOOD ACROSS THE STATE. THE VOTERS OF IOWA STAFF PROVIED WORKSHOPS TO SUPPORTERS INCLUDING STORYTELLING FOR SOCIAL CHANGE. IOWA YOUTH FROM OUR PLANNED PARENTHOOD GENERATION ACTION CAMPUS CHAPTERS ATTENDED PLANNED PARENTHOOD ACTION FUND'S PEOPLE'S SUMMIT IN WASHINGTON DC. THEY WERE TRAINED ON ORGANIZING TACTICS, ATTENDED LOBBY DAY WITH THEIR LEGISLATORS TO SHARE STORIES ON HOW THE TITLE X GAG RULE IMPACTS THEM, AND JOINED WITH OTHER YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS FOR A YOUTH ACTION SUMMIT. CAMPUS CHAPTER ACTIVITIES SHIFTED IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19, WITH ONE CHAPTER PAUSING ACTIVITIES AND THE OTHERS MEETING REMOTELY. IN COALITION WITH 28 PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS, VOTERS OF IOWA STAFF ASSISTED IN ORGANIZING AND FACILITATING MORAL MONDAYS AT THE STATE CAPITOL BUILDING. THE EVENT WAS HELD NEARLY EVERY MONDAY DURING LEGISLATIVE SESSION AND ENGAGED HUNDREDS OF IOWANS ON TOPICS FOCUSED ON EQUITY, FAIRNESS, AND JUSTICE. VOTERS OF IOWA ALSO WORKS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE COALITION FOR GUN SAFETY AND THE IOWA COALITION AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. VOTERS OF IOWA STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS ALSO PARTICIPATED IN VIRTUAL WARRIOR THURSDAY EVENTS AND TRAINING, BOTH FOCUSED ON LGBTQ EQUITY.IN FY20 STAFF RECRUITED AND TRAINED FOUR NEW MEMBERS OF THE SPEAKERS BUREAU PROGRAM. MEMBERS OF THE BUREAU ARE TRAINED TO USE THEIR PERSONAL STORIES TO BRING SOCIAL CHANGE, INCLUDING HOW TO SHARE STORIES, AND BEST PRACTICES WHEN SPEAKING TO THE MEDIA. SPEAKERS BUREAU MEMBERS HELPED LEAD STORYTELLING EVENTS AT FOUR PUBLIC HEARINGS REGARDING ANTI-SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH BILLS AT THE IOWA LEGISLATURE.
