Our mission is to facilitate economic development activities, to retain and expand the existing business base and encourage new entrepreneurial, industrial and commercial endeavors that benefit Estherville and Emmet County.
We have purchased 42 acres of bare farm ground that we are platting for our new industrial park. Plans are being completed to extend utilities and roads into the new industrial park. We expect to file for our preliminary plat and then final plat for the project. There are several industrial and commercial prospects we are working with that have or could locate a new business here or expand an existing business. Housing has been identified as a critical need. Several development projects to meet the housing needs are being considered.
Weve constructed a new single family spec home that is for sale. To make room for new commercial businesses and downtown housing, we have purchased an abandoned downtown 2-story brick building with plans to renovate it into main floor commercial space and 2nd floor loft apartments. We continue to focus on helping entrepreneurs start and/or expand their business here. We purchased and demolished an abandoned residential property located in a popular commercial zone. The property will be offered for sale for commercial development.
