TO PRESENT THE EXECUTIVE, LEGISLATIVE, JUDICIAL AND REGULATORY BODIES INSTITUTIONAL VIEWS THAT ARE IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC, THE RENEWABLE FUELS INDUSTRY, AND CONSUMERS.TO WORK FOR LEGISLATION AND FOR REGULATIONS THAT CAN REASONABLY BE EXPECTED TO ACCOMPLISH THE AFORESAID PURPOSES AND TO OPPOSE LEGISLATION AND REGULATIONS NOT CONSISTENT WITH SUCH PURPOSES.TO COOPERATE WITH THOSE EXECUTIVE, LEGISLATIVE, JUDICIAL AND REGULATORY BODIES IN ACHIEVING THOSE STANDARDS OF EXCELLENCE WHICH ENGENDER THE CONFIDENCE OF THE PUBLIC AND OF THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY IN THE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES OF MEMBER COMPANIES AND IN THE IMPARTIAL REGUALTION OF THE BUSINESS OF MEMBER COMPANIES.TO FOSTER THE DEVELOPMENT AND GROWTH OF THE RENEWABLE FUELS INDUSTRY IN IOWA THROUGH EDUCATION, PROMOTION AND INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT.
TO ESTABLISH AN ASSOCIATION OF COMPANIES INTERESTED IN PROMOTING THE PRODUCTION AND USE OF RENEWABLE FUELS THROUGH CONSUMER EDUCATION, PRODUCT PROMOTION, SOUND LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY POLICY AND INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT.
PUBLIC POLICY: RENEWABLE FUELS ARE GREATLY IMPACTED BY PUBLIC POLICY. IN 2018, IOWA RENEWABLE FUELS ASSOCIATION (IRFA) SPONSORED AND HELPED ORGANIZE A BIOFUELS: SCIENCE AND SUBSTAINABILITY TOUR. THE TOUR BROUGHT 34 KEY DECISION MAKERS AND STAFF FROM WASHINGTON, DC TO IOWA TO LEARN FIRST-HAND ABOUT ADVANCES IN FARMING AND RENEWABLE FUEL PRODUCTION WITH THE GOAL OF ENLIGHTENING THEIR WORK ON PUBLIC POLICY ISSUES. IRFA ALSO WORKED ON PUBLIC POLICY LEGISLATIVE ISSUES IN BOTH IOWA AND WASHINGTON, DC.
CONSUMER EDUCATION: IOWA RENEWABLE FUELS ASSOCIATION (IRFA) HOSTS AN ANNUAL RENEWABLE FUELS SUMMIT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AT NO CHARGE. OVER 40 EXHIBITORS AND ROUGHLY 700 REGISTERED ATTENDEES LEARNED ABOUT IOWA'S ETHANOL AND BIODIESEL INDUSTRIES AS WELL AS THE OBSTACLES CONFRONTING THESE INDUSTRIES.A NEW "PINK AT THE PUMP" CAMPAIGN RAN FROM OCTOBER 1-31, 2018. A TOTAL OF 51 RETAIL LOCATIONS (IN 6 STATES) PARTICIPATED IN THE CAMPAIGN BY DONATING 3 CENTS/GALLON FOR EVERY GALLON OF E15 SOLD TO THE NATIONAL BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION. TOTAL DONATIONS RAISED THROUGH E15 SALES TOTALED ROUGHLY $16,360.SEVERAL OTHER ADVERTISING AND EVENTS WERE HELD, EDUCATING THOUSANDS OF CONSUMERS.
PRODUCT PROMOTION: IOWA RENEWABLE FUELS ASSOCIATION (IRFA) CONDUCTED DIRECT OUTREACH TO IOWA RETAILERS TO EDUCATE THEM ON THE BENEFITS OF ADDING E15, E85 AND/OR BIODIESEL TO THEIR PRODUCT OFFERINGS. THERE WERE DOZENS OF INDIVIDUAL MEETINGS, LEADING TO A TOTAL OF 213 REGISTERED E15 LOCATIONS, 293 E85 LOCATIONS, AND OVER 700 BIODIESEL LOCATIONS. COMBINED, THESE LOCATIONS SERVICE TENS OF THOUSANDS OF CUSTOMERS.
