WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM SERVICESINDIVIDUALS ACHIEVE GREATER LEVELS OF SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND ECONOMIC SUCCESS THROUGH GOODWILL'S WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT SERVICES - SUCH AS EMPLOYMENT TRAINING AND EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, PRE-EMPLOYMENT TRAINING, EMPLOYMENT RETENTION SERVICES, HIGH SCHOOL WORK TRAINING PROGRAMS, AND JOB CENTER SERVICES. WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS AND SERVICES WERE PROVIDED TO 3,513 INDIVIDUALS IN 2019. GOODWILL SERVES INDIVIDUALS THROUGH INTENSIVE CASE MANAGED WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS, WHICH UTILIZE GOODWILL RETAIL STORES, ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES, AND E-COMMERCE OPERATIONS FOR PAID ON-THE-JOB TRAINING, COMMUNITY BASED ON-THE-JOB TRAINING WITH LOCAL EMPLOYERS. JOB CENTER SERVICES ARE LOCATED IN FOUR COMMUNITIES AND OFFER FREE EMPLOYMENT RESOURCES.INTENSIVE SERVICES WERE PROVIDED TO 295 INDIVIDUALS IN 2019. THESE SERVICES ENCOMPASS EDUCATIONAL AND CAREER SERVICES WITH A PROGRAM MANAGER OR DIRECT SERVICE WORKER ASSIGNED TO EACH PARTICIPANT WITH SERVICES DELIVERED OVER AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. MAINTENANCE AND ENHANCEMENT OF SKILLS OR INDEPENDENT FUNCTIONING LEVEL, OR MAINTENANCE OF EMPLOYMENT IS THE EXPECTED RESULT OF PROGRAMS AND SERVICES IN THIS CATEGORY.CASE MANAGED PLACEMENT FOCUSED SERVICES WERE PROVIDED TO 230 INDIVIDUALS IN 2019. THESE SERVICES HAVE AN EXPECTED OUTCOME OF JOB PLACEMENT THROUGH JOB DEVELOPMENT AND DIRECT JOB PLACEMENT PROGRAMS, AS WELL AS TEMPORARY PLACEMENT SERVICES AND PRE-PLACEMENT PHASES OF SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT SERVICES. A PROGRAM MANAGER OR DIRECT SERVICE WORKER IS ASSIGNED TO EACH INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPATING IN PLACEMENT FOCUSED PROGRAMS AND SERVICES.INTEGRATED DAY SERVICESGOODWILL INTEGRATED DAY SERVICES PROVIDES DAY HABILITATION AND ADULT DAY PROGRAMMING FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES, MENTAL ILLNESS, BRAIN INJURIES, AND THOSE WITH ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE OR DEMENTIA. DAY HABILITATION PROGRAM FOCUSES ON DAILY LIVING SKILLS, GOAL SETTING, SOCIALIZATION, AND COMMUNITY INTEGRATION. ADULT DAY PROGRAM PROVIDES A SAFE, PARTICIPANT-CHOICE, AND FUN ATMOSPHERE TO ASSIST ADULTS IN MAINTAINING THEIR CURRENT SKILL LEVELS WHICH ENABLES THEM TO REMAIN IN THEIR HOME ENVIRONMENT. INTEGRATED DAY SERVICES PROVIDED PROGRAMMING AND CARE TO 60 ADULTS IN 2019 AT OUR CENTER LOCATED IN SIOUX CITY, IOWA.
CONTRACTS COMMUNITY BASEDGOODSHRED INVESTS IN THE COMMUNITY BY OFFERING SECURE DOCUMENT DESCTRUCTION AND HARD DRIVE DESTRUCTION, RECYCLING THOUSANDS OF PAPER AND ELECTRONICS EACH YEAR TO KEEP IT OUT OF LANDFILLS. THE AVERAGE COLLECTION CONTAINER DIVERTS 200 POUNDS OF PAPER FROM LANDFILLS AND PROVIDES TWO HOURS OF JOB COACHING FOR INDIVIDUALS IN GOODWILL PROGRAMS. NOT ONLY DOES GOODSHRED RECYCLE THOUSANDS OF POUNDS OF PAPER EACH YEAR, IT HELPS PUT PEOPLE WITH BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT TO WORK IN OUR SECURE, COMPLIANT FACILITY LOCATED IN SIOUX FALLS, SD, GOODSHRED SERVES ALL OF SOUTH DAKOTA AND PORTION OF IOWA, NEBRASKA AND MINNESOTA.
