Organizations Filed Purposes:
The purposes of the Council shall be on a non-profit basis to promote the purposes of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) by providing a structure for SHRM members in the State of Iowa (hereinafter referred to as "the State") to consult together concerning the affairs, activities, needs and problems of SHRM in the state and to adopt programs which will promote the progress and welfare of SHRM in the human resource profession as a whole, including, without limitation, the provision of channels of communication between Chapters, State Council, and the appropriate Regional Council, provision of services to all members of the human resource management profession within the State, and the provision of leadership training at the state level.
The Iowa SHRM Council was formed to promote and provide assistance to the thirteen (13) affiliate chapters of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) located within the state of Iowa. The primary activities of the Iowa SHRM Council includes the planning, promotion, coordination, and hosting of two (2) annual conferences: the Iowa SHRM State Conference and the Iowa SHRM State Leadership Conference. Each conference is intended to provide education on and awareness of the various issues facing human resource management professionals. In addition to the state conferences, the Iowa SHRM Council supports students interested in the field of human resource management through its participation in the annual National Student Human Resource Conference. The Iowa SHRM Council also presents webinars to educate human resource management professionals who are interested in seeking further professional certifications.
We provide continuing education opportunities for HR professionals through an annual state conference and a state leadership conference.
