Organizations Filed Purposes: The mission of the Virginia Gay Hospital Health Care Foundation is the continuation of health and medical care to people of the Virginia Gay Hospital service area. Our concern for humanity is demonstrated by a commitment to obtain and distribute funds through the Virginia Gay Hospital Health Care Foundation that will promote, maintain and restore the health of the individuals it serves.

To support Virginia Gay Hospital Inc.

The Virginia Gay Hospital Health Care Foundation acquires and administers charitable gifts for the benefit of Virginia Gay Hospital and Clinics. The annual Tree of Lights campaign is our primary fundraiser. The Foundation uses the funds it raises and receives to purchase state-of-the-art equipment, enhance facilities and develop special programs to help Virginia Gay Hospital and Clinics remain in the forefront of medical care. The goal of the Foundation is to bring an ever-increasing quality of healthcare to the community. This past year $82,000 in funds raised supported the purchase of 4D Probe (Imaging), Fast Ultrasound, OR Automatic Doors, Stretcher Chair - ED, Power Exam Chairs, Shade Structure increasing patient care needs and staff safety. Party in Pink 5K is a fundraiser to support Virginia Gay Hospital Gifts of Hope program. Gifts of Hope supports women's health providing access of care for mammography and women's health checks. If a person is diagnosed with breast cancer, they may access $2500 to pay for medical expenses, no application required. Medical bills are presented for payment. Reach Out and Read is a program in the Virginia Gay Clinics supporting childhood literacy. At each well child check a provider will present the child with a free book and interact with child on reading or looking through the book. By the time the child is in school they will have a library of approximately 15 books. The program encourages parents to read with their children at home. Approximately 500 books distributed each year.Benton County Community Health and Wellness Fair is provided through the efforts of Virginia Hospital Health Care Foundation each year. Foundation organizes an event that highlights approximately 70 vendors providing awareness in areas of mental wellness, food and nutrition, financial literacy, access to medical care, emergency preparedness, early childhood education and health care access, insurance, arts and much more.
