Organizations Filed Purposes:
We strive to offer self-reliance by providing language academic vocational physical spiritual and economic oppertunities for deaf and hard of hearing.
Haiti had much unrest in 2019, but Haiti Deaf Academy was still able to provide room and board (dorm style) for 38 deaf students ages 4 - 18. We also had 5 day students in addition to the residential ones who receive the same educational opportunities and meals. Our provisions for all students included, but were not limited to, language development, educational opportunities, scholastic tutoring and spiritual decevelopment. We were also able to provide additional vocational training for 8 of our older students. We continue to hold leadership training for staff. In the spring, we were able to hold an annual wellness exam for all students, conducted by medical individuals visiting from the U. S. Our deaf children also had an opportunity to play soccer with hearing children from another ministry close by.
