Organizations Filed Purposes:
TO PROVIDE NUTRITIOUS FOOD AND GROCERY PRODUCTS TO NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS IN NORTHEAST IOWA, WHILE OFFERING HUNGER EDUCATION PROGRAMS TO THE COMMUNITY AND THOSE IN NEED.
RECEIVING AND DISTRIBUTING FOOD AND NON-FOOD PRODUCTS TO PEOPLE IN NEED.
CEDAR VALLEY FOOD PANTRY PROGRAM - PROVIDED AN AVERAGE OF 3,200 FAMILIES EACH MONTH WITH FOOD THROUGH THE CEDAR VALLEY FOOD PANTRY. THIS PROGRAM IS PROVIDES SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD AND GROCERY PRODUCTS TO THOSE WHO FALL UNDER THE FEDERAL POVERTY GUIDELINES.
MEMBER AGENCY DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM FOOD DISTRIBUTION TO NONPROFIT PANTRIES, COMMUNITY MEAL SITES, DAY CARES AND OTHER COMMUNITY PROGRAMS IN OUR 16 COUNTY SERVICE AREA. WE HAVE OVER 200 MEMBER AGENCIES.
OTHER PROGRAMS : BACKPACK PROGRAM - PROVIDED 149 SCHOOLS WITH FOOD THROUGH THE BACKPACK PROGRAM, PROVIDING OVER 153,000 BAGS TO OVER 4,350 KIDS. THIS FOOD IS PROVIDED FOR KIDS TO MAKE SURE THEY HAVE FOOD OVER THE WEEKEND WHEN SCHOOL IS NOT IN SESSION. KIDS CAFE PROGRAM- PROVIDED OVER 71,000 MEALS TO KIDS THROUGH THE KIDS CAFE PROGRAM. WE SERVED AN AVERAGE OF 440 CHILDREN EACH DAY AT 19 SITES THROUGHOUT THE CEDAR VALLEY. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES MEALS AND FOOD TO KIDS THROUGH AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS. ELDERLY NUTRITION PROGRAM - PROVIDED AN AVERAGE OF 540 INDIVIDUALS MONTHLY TO SENIORS WITH FOOD THROUGH OUR ELDERLY NUTRITION PROGRAM. WE DISTRIBUTED CLOSE TO 8,193 BAGS AND BOXES OF FOOD THROUGH AREA AGENCIES ON AGING AND SENIOR SITES FOR SENIORS WHO ARE HOMEBOUND OR NEED FOOD OVER THE WEEKEND WHEN SENIOR MEAL SITES ARE NOT OPERATIONAL. THIS EQUATES TO OVER 243,000 MEALS. MOBILE FOOD PANTRY PROGRAM - PROVIDED 13 COMMUNITIES IN NORTHEAST IOWA WITH MOBILE FOOD PANTRIES, REACHING AN AVERAGE OF 111 FAMILIES EACH MONTH AT EACH SITE. APPROXIMATELY 1,650,000 MEALS WERE DISTRIBUTED THROUGH THIS PROGRAM. MOBILE FOOD PANTRIES PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL ASSISTANCE TO UNDER-SERVED COMMUNITIES. SUMMER FEEDING PROGRAM - SUMMER OF 2019, WE WERE AT 22 SITES AND SUMMER OF 2020 WE HAVE DECREASED TO 10 SITES. THIS INCLUDES SITES IN WATERLOO, CEDAR FALLS AND WAVERLY, CHICKASAW COUNTY & FAYETTE COUNTY. WE SERVE AN AVERAGE OF 210 KIDS EACH DAY AND 25,000 MEALS.
