Organizations Filed Purposes: The mission of EMBRACE (Enriching Many By Reaching All in Catholic Education) is to provide children with special needs the opportunity for an inclusive education by providing resources to support these children in their home parish school. In collaboration with the Catholic School Office of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas, EMBRACE equips and engages our Catholic community to embrace all learners by providing grants, resources, partnerships and awareness. Our vision is a world where every child is embraced for their unique God given abilities and provided the Catholic education necessary to learn to their fullest potential and become the person God made them to be.

The mission of EMBRACE (Enriching Many By Reaching All in Catholic Education) is to provide children with special needs the opportunity for an inclusive education by providing resources to support these children in their home parish school.

Grants to Schools: Fulfilled year two of a three-year grant cycle for personnel grants to five Catholic schools for three special education teachers and two enrichment coordinators. Fulfilled year three of a three-year grant cycle for personal grants to eight Catholic schools for two occupational therapists, two special education teachers, two enrichment coordinators, one reading specialist, and one speech therapist. Due to COVID our fundraising efforts were dramatically impacted, meaning fewer opportunities for grants and scholarships.

SPED Endorsement Program at Benedictine College Scholarships: Provided special education endorsement program scholarships. Program will be 5-6 semesters, depending on each student's opportunity and timing for student teaching. Semester 1 fell in the 2019-2020 FY. Due to COVID our applicant pool for our scholarship program was smaller because we could not conduct in person info sessions, and some schools and educators were concerned about the uncertainty of the Fall, and taking on a college program plus virtual instruction.

Awareness Events/Community Information Nights: Hosted EMBRACE Day, a resource fair with over 30 organizations in the greater Kansas City area that provide services for all children including those with exceptionalities. Sponsored Community Information Nights with speakers on topics of interest in support of our mission and to provide awareness and general guidance to parents and teachers. Childcare and activities were provided by teachers, therapists, and other volunteers.
