Systems of Care Initiative, Inc. awarded a Community Grant to the Family of Conservancy to prepare children for success, support healthy families and strengthen early learning programs. Due to COVID-19 familes were served remotely with information via zoom including: daily/weekly communiations, sharing children's learning activities, videos of teachers reading stories and sharing lessons, and providing virtual family engagement activities. Additionally, the Conservancy provided both drive-through and in-home delivery of essential supplies for families under lock down such as food, diapers, wipes and hygiene products, cleaning supplies, books, children's outdoor play items and activities. The Conservancy also collaborated with additional community partners to refer familes for additional support such as rental assitance, Pandemic EBT, and mental health services.
100 $50 electronic Walmart gift cards were distributed to low-income families with children ages birth to five during the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds were used for food, clothing, and cleaning supplies.
