Organizations Filed Purposes:
Reaching Out From Within (ROFW) provides rehabilitation programs for incarcerated individuals, and utilizes factual based concepts, welcoming volunteers and incarcerated men and women of all clerical and belief systems. ROFW's rehabilitation program offers an opportunity for a "whole person" transformation for incarcerated individuals who want to make lasting changes in their behavior in order to become a role model for nonviolence, while still incarcerated, and becoming contributing members upon their return to our communities.
The Courage to Change Symposium held in 2019 brought together hundreds of justice related and justice involved individuals in a day long symposium and dinner to hear about the German prison system and implementation of a similar system in a Connecticut prison that would lead to prison reform in Kansas and Missouri. We held Annual Banquets in Kansas with gift boxes to all ROFW groups and members. We had 15 banquets for 19 separate groups with over 400 boxes delivered. Banquest were also held in North Carolina for the three ROFW groups there. We also met with NC Department of Public Safety (DPS) leadership about expanding the ROFW program into 10 new prisons. Closer to home, we met with the Missouri Deprtment of Corrections (DOC) Director and executive leadership about expanding the ROFW program into two MO prisons.
