To provide Veterans/First Responders with an opportunity to develop restorative lifestyle changes by providing a healing environment, a community built on unconditional positive regard, effective tools and training that can help save lives, restore families and stop the generational cycle of PTSD.
The Revenant Journey is a 5-day, intensive, residential group therapy program for warriors who have PTSD and other undiagnosed mental health conditions. This program is administered by licensed mental health professionals and co-led by veterans who are graduates. Although the pandemic prevented us from holding planned sessions this year, we could restart the program in a COVID safe environment.
In March, TBW lunched the Frontline Therapy Network to meet the community's needs related to the COVID pandemic. The FTN is a referral network of licensed mental health professionals who provide Medical Personnel, First Responders, and Military/Veterans treatment. Each therapist in the FTN has been screened, interviewed, and vetted by our clinical staff. The sessions are provided at no charge to the clients, with many clients continuing with their therapist. While COVID provided many challenges this year, launching FTN has been a success and will be an ongoing program.
No one leaves the 5-day Revenant Journey healed. It has always been the trailhead that puts our warriors on their healing journey. TBW has long recognized that one of the most significant barriers for veterans to successfully overcome PTSD is the lack of a continuum of care between veteran nonprofits. TBW realized that our warriors deserve continued support on their journey and founded the Warrior Mental Health Coalition to bring together like-minded partners to begin solving the problem. The result is the Next90Network. The Network is comprised of classes that continue the education of each of the integrative tools warriors are introduced to in the Revenant Journey, such as fitness, equine, meditation, spiritual, nutrition, couples, and family programs. These 90-day classes demand the same level of commitment as one community college course and are designed to remove the barriers and provide a path to prioritizing one's mental health.
