PERMANENCY: KVC KANSAS REPRESENTS ONE OF THE STRONGEST AND BROADEST CHILD WELFARE AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE CONTINUUMS IN THE NATION. KVC IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CARE OF ALL KANSAS CHILDREN WHO ENTER FOSTER CARE IN THE KANSAS CITY AND EAST REGIONS. KVC PROVIDES ONGOING CASE MANAGEMENT, THERAPY, FAMILY EDUCATION, ADVOCACY, AND SUPPORT, TRANSPORTATION AND 365 DAYS OF AFTERCARE SERVICES FOLLOWING PERMANENCY TO CHILDREN AND FAMILIES. KVC USES EVIDENCE-BASED ASSESSMENTS AND INTERVENTIONS SUCH AS TRAUMA SYSTEMS THERAPY, STRUCTURED DECISION MAKING ASSESSMENTS, AND SAFE & CONNECTED TO ENSURE FAMILY ENGAGEMENT AND SERVICES DELIVERED TO THE FAMILY MATCH THE LEVEL OF NEED. Child Placing Agency: KVC believes that children grow best in families. KVC is the largest Child Placing Agency in the state of Kansas, providing over 5,938 placements for children in foster care. Family Service Coordinators provide service to foster families that includes 24/7 crisis support, continuing education programs, mentoring coordination, support groups and educational publications and forums. KVC raises funds privately to underwrite an annual weekend conference where approximately 1,000 foster parents, children and volunteers come together to gain education and inspiration from national presenters and experts, network with each other and enjoy family activities. AMILY PRESERVATION: BETWEEN JUNE 2018 AND JULY 2019, 6,031 CHILDREN AND 2,596 FAMILIES HAVE RECEIVED FAMILY PRESERVATION SERVICES. KVC KANSAS HELPS STRUGGLING FAMILIES STAY TOGETHER USING EVIDENCEBASED INTERVENTIONS AND DECISIONS BASED ON SAFETY AND RISK ASSESSMENTS. KVC IS DEDICATED TO PROVIDING 24-HOUR SUPPORT TO FAMILIES 365 DAYS A YEAR TO HELP THEM IDENTIFY AND REMOVE BARRIERS TO ENSURE SAFETY AND WELLBEING. KVC PROVIDES INTENSIVE IN-HOME SERVICES WITH A FAMILY PRESERVATION WORKER WHO DILIGENTLY MATCHES THE LEVEL OF INTERVENTION TO THE LEVEL OF NEED IN THE FAMILY. (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)
