FAMILY PRESERVATION AND REUNIFICATION SERVICES: KVC PROVIDES FAMILY PRESERVATION AND REUNIFICATION SERVICES IN EIGHT REGIONS ACROSS CENTRAL, EASTERN, NORTHERN, AND NORTHEASTERN MOUNTAIN REGIONS IN KENTUCKY UNDER THE FAMILY PRESERVATION AND REUNIFICATION SERVICES CONTRACTS WITH THE CABINET FOR HEALTH AND FAMILY SERVICES. SERVICE AREAS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REGIONS; BIG SANDY, BLUEGRASS FAYETTE, BLUEGRASS RURAL, FIVCO, GATEWAY / BUFFALO TRACE, KENTUCKY RIVER, KIPDA RURAL, AND NORTHERN BLUEGRASS. FOSTER CARE: KVC PROVIDES RECRUITMENT, LICENSING AND TRAINING OF RESOURCE FAMILIES IN KENTUCKY, PROVIDING LICENSED BEDS FOR CHILDREN IN THERAPEUTIC FOSTER CARE. FAMILY SERVICE COORDINATORS PROVIDE ONGOING SUPPORT TO FAMILIES INCLUDING 24/7 CRISIS SUPPORT, THERAPEUTIC SERVICES FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE NEEDS, CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS, MENTORING COORDINATION, COMMUNITY SUPPORT GROUPS AND EDUCATIONAL PUBLICATIONS. PSYCHIATRY AND PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES ARE ALSO PROVIDED IDENTIFIED ON INDIVIDUALIZED TREATMENT PLANS. IN FY18, KVC WAS ABLE TO CARE FOR 46 CHILDREN THROUGHOUT THE STATE IN FOSTER CARE.
