Organizations Filed Purposes:
Mission: To showcase Johnson County's unique stories through collections, programs and exhibitions utilizing our iconic venues. Vision: To be nationally recognized for presenting the local history and exploring the future of one of America's leading counties. The Johnson County Museum (JCM) was established in 1967 to collect, preserve, and interpret the history and heritage of Johnson County, Kansas funded by Johnson County (KS) Government, and operated and managed by the Johnson County Parks and Recreation District. The Museum operates the main museum and the Lanesfield historic site near Gardner, KS. The JCM provides exhibits, educational programs, a research library, and extensive access to its collections online at www.jocohistory.org.
