Organizations Filed Purposes:
MLI partners with local churches and religious organizations to enrich the lives of young people with Christian witness by developing authentic, intentional, and highly proficient leaders, sharing the love and grace of Jesus Christ.
The primary ministry overseen by MLI, a two-year course of study, is comprised of cohorts of youth and children's ministry leaders serving in local churches. A core of expert practitioners, composed of pastors, counselors, educators, and experienced youth ministers, provides practical ministry training; at the same time, a robust team of theology professors and instructors teach theological education. The program develops authentic, intentional, proficient, and theologically informed ministers, church staff, and lay leaders who serve in a variety of congregational settings. Hundreds of youth and children and many congregations benefit from this transformed leadership.
MLI provides coaching services to pastors and staff of churches and religious organizations. Turnover among church staff can be very high-a third of all youth ministers have less than two years of experience in their job. Many children's ministers have similar work experiences, and too many young clergy leave the ministry due to burnout, conflict, and poor support. MLI provides staff with coaching, often alongside training and educational tools offered by the organization.
MLI offers one-day and multi-day consulting visits to churches and religious organizations. These services encompass the collection of comprehensive research data and include personalized coaching and relevant training. Services include ministry advising, strategic planning, staff search guidance, and peacemaking conversations.
