To preserve Kansas' ranching heritage and open spaces for future generations through the conservation of working landscapes.
Land protection staff conducted annual on-site monitoring of 20 Ranchland Trust of Kansas conservation easements and fielded inquiries with approximately five new individuals who are considering granting a conservation easement on their property. Ranchland Trust of Kansas closed on one conservation easement during 2020 and currently have four pending easements.
Published three print newsletters that were mailed to approximately 750 households. Published 27 electronic newsletters that were e-mailed to over 500 households.
Ranchland Trust of Kansas limited the in-person presentations due to COVID-19 pandemic. We virtually presented information about Ranchland Trust of Kansas and conservation easements to the Kansas Livestock Association Convention in 2020. We helped sponsor the 2020 Leopold Award in Kansas. We extended the 2020 outreach through approximatley 3-4 social posts per week.
